PTA Membership

Pleasant Valley PTA supports students and teachers at Pleasant Valley by providing programs, activities, and events that help them grow socially and academically. We work closely with school administrators and teachers to determine the needs of our schools and advocate for our students.

We all care about our students. Some of us just don’t know how we can make a difference or don’t have the time to volunteer because of other obligations. Pleasant Valley PTA and Washington State PTA can be your voice and can help make a difference in the lives of ALL our students. As a large organized body we can impact decisions at the National and State levels that affect our students at Pleasant Valley.

By joining Pleasant Valley PTA and exercising your right to vote, you have a voice in your students education. Become a member and stay connected with important issues and information about our school.

What Membership is:

  • Support for students & staff

  • Our legislative voice! (Membership count affects our number of votes at Convention & Legislative Assembly)

  • Funding for student programs & activties

What Membership is NOT:

  • A commitment to volunteer. The PTA will never require your participation in fundraising or volunteering.

Why Join the PTA?

The number one reason to join the PTA is to benefit your student. In doing so, you also help our schools!

  • Help Your Child Succeed. PTA fosters parent involvement. Parent involvement has been proven by three decades of research to be the greatest predictor of student success.

  • Witness Improvement. By getting involved with PTA you’re part of the solution, helping make positive changes. Our local PTA plays an important role in fundraising to provide building improvements, curriculum-based programs, and social events - all vital to a school’s success.

  • Be a Role Model. By becoming a PTA Member you’ll be demonstrating to your student the importance you place on education.

Membership Matters

Our legislative voice is determined by the number of members in our chapter. For every 100 members, we have one vote at the state level. Representatives from PV PTA vote on your behalf.

Pleasant Valley PTA support since 2014:

  • $48,500 for Teachers & Staff

  • $7,600 for Learning Incentives

  • $17,700 for Educational Support

  • $9,600 for Reading Programs

  • $3,500 for New Technology

  • $15,360 for Playground Equipment

Make Your Voice Heard

General Membership Meetings are held 3 times a year. PTA business such as grant requests and officer elections are voted on at meetings. Attendance is not required, but we encourage you to attend and vote.
